The VA and Congress made the process for granting a service connected disability rating very evidence based. When Veterans are on active duty, they don’t always go to sick call to complain about every single ailment every time there is an issue. The VA knows this, but the laws were written in such a manner that if there is no documented diagnosis while on active duty (documented in your Service Treatment Medical Records) then it never happened, and your claim for that issue will likely be denied. Nothing is a “given” when it comes to the VA and disability claims.
